The First Lutheran Church
Foundation was established at the annual church meeting in January 1987 to provide a
living fund for the purpose of supporting the mission and program of First Lutheran
Church of Miles City. Its basic purpose is to hold gifts in perpetuity, with only the
interest from such gifts being used for various programs and needs of First Lutheran
Church (FLC).
The Foundation was incorporated in October 1987 under the laws of
the State of Montana. All members, in good standing, at FLC are members of the Foundation.
Its rotating seven member Board of Directors is elected at the Annual Meeting of FLC by
the church membership.
In 1988 the Foundation
received its tax-exempt status and began functioning as a non-profit corporation
organized for religious purposes.
